This blog has been established by Gary & Joan (nee Hitchins) Hunt to record the family history of Giovanni Borserio who was born in Villa di Tirano, Lombardy, Italy and migrated to Australia in 1865.

There are many generations of descendants of Giovanni in Australia of which many know little of him and his Italian heritage.

This blog will build up Giovanni's Italian ancestry and his Australian descendants.  Giovanni's DNA can be found in third generation family names of Hunt, Hatfield, Rogers, Lueke and Considine.

    Hi Gary and Joan,

    I visited Tirano a couple of years ago and we are once again planning on heading back to Italy in the next couple of months - and hopefully staying for an extended period of time.

    Thanks for putting all this together as this has been a huge interest of mine for many years. We LOVED Tirano when we visited... and of course the rest of Italy.
